ANIMAL WELFARE WITHOUT BORDERS
The animal refuge is located in hessian Hanau and is a sanctuary where abandoned, old and sick animals, or animals that have had a particularly hard time in life, find a loving and permanent home. Here live not only dogs, horses, llamas or chickens, but also pigs, sheep and goats. Mostly all these animals have been mistreated and have no chance to find a new home. Thanks to the two dedicated founders John and Drane and their motivated team, the animals receive not only the best possible veterinary treatment, but also the care and love that they were previously denied. In this safe haven, the animals gradually regain their self-confidence. Because of the close proximity, it is possible for us to visit the animals in the sanctuary in Hanau again and again in person. It is nice to see that they are well cared for there and are finally allowed to live in dignity. The commitment of the two animal rescuers goes even beyond the borders. John and Drane also work tirelessly for their partner animal shelter in Campi in southern Italy. They cover the costs for veterinary surgeon, medicines and food, and raise awareness of animal welfare among the local population through educational work. This "animal protection without borders", which the Tierrefugium Hanau provides on a daily basis, is itself dependent on help. With a monthly cash donation and regular donations in kind from our animal casual brand PALOPA, we support their valuable work.
